The 2010 Winter Games are just a few shorts months away and all four of Sierra Resort’s Elite Athletes have their eye on competing. Here’s an update on who’s who.

Hannah Teter is the reigning Women’s Halfpipe gold medalist. After competing nationwide last season, she’s looking to return to the top spot on the podium this winter. Hannah finished 2nd overall at the Winter DEW Tour, 1st at the US Snowboarding Grand Prix on February 1, 2009 and took home the bronze medal at the 2009 Winter X Games.

Hannah also bottles her family’s maple syrup, with all proceeds going to charity. Here’s a sweet vid of her shooting maple syrup on Jimmey Kimmel Live.

Elijah Teter, Hannah’s older brother, will also be competing in the 2010 Winter Games. He’s been named to the Men’s Halfpipe team and, after finishing fourth at the 2009 Winter X Games and standing on the podium at a slew of US Grand Prix and World Cup events over the last few years, Elijah is looking forward to the granddaddy of snowboarding contests.

Jamie Anderson is waiting in the wings for a shot to compete in Halfpipe at the 2010 Winter Games. She was named top female snowboarder by both Snowboarder Magazine and TransWorld SNOWboarding Magazine last winter and won the Burton Global Open series. Jamie’s specialty is Slopestyle, which is not yet an Olympic event.

** side note ** Snowboarders can compete in Giant Slalom, Snowboard Cross or Halfpipe in the Olympics.

Joanie Anderson is training with the US Snowboard Cross team this summer and is hoping to land a spot on the Olympic team. She won gold at the 2007 Winter X Games and topped the podium at the 2008 Jeep King of the Hill contest. She is motivated to win her spot in the lineup at the 2010 Winter Games and could easily be in the final heat if all goes well.
